Killswitch
Drama
Written by Rémi Brion
Charlotte, 16, is mute since her father's suicide. The only times her voice comes back is when she sings,
alone in the ruined church she turned into her own private music studio.
Unable to sing in front of an audience, she finds a way around her handicap by creating Pandora,
her alter-ego, a Black Metal singer, with a Corpse Paint make-up.
With her band, Killswitch, Charlotte beings expressing her suffering and, through that, she
finally becomes a teenager. She drifts apart from her overbearing mother, makes friends,
and discovers her sexual drives.
Pandora is Charlotte's liberator, but becomes her persecutor when excesses and selfish acts start occuring.
If she wishes not to lose herself in Pandora, Charlotte must understand that expressing one's suffering
through Art is not enough to heal from such a traumatic event.
